The 2026 Boorowa Irish Woolfest is returning on October 2 to October 4 as the town celebrates all things sheepish and green.
Hilltops Council Events Coordinator, David Munnerley, says it is shaping up to be another great event.
“We have got a really exciting Woolfest again this year, including the wood chop, petting zoo, pony rides, working dog demonstrations, after the ever famous and most popular running of the sheep,” he says.
This year, David says they have also introduced Rambo, the bucking sheep.
“It is similar to a mechanical bull, but it is a sheep, so it is going to make a grand entrance into Marsden Street after the street parade,” he says.

“We have also managed to secure five times Australian whip cracking champion, Emiliqua East.
“She will be doing some cracking demonstrations and even a little workshop for kids.”
One of the Woolfest’s highlight activities, The Running of the Sheep, will be held on Sunday, but David says there is plenty to see in the lead-up to the big event!
“We have got a really good festival lined up, the Saturday afternoon at the Rec Park we have got a great lineup of services and face painting, and then we’re showing the movie, Babe, the pig on the big screen,” he says.
Other activities include a quick sheer on the Saturday, fireworks in Boorowa Park on Saturday night, live music throughout the weekend, a performance from the pipe band and Young Town Band on Sunday and the highly anticipated Guinness Pie Eating competition.
“Get along and support and this community event,” says David.
“I would also like to thank our sponsors that support us year in and year out, they really do have a major impact on how our festivals run and we want to demonstrate a great community spirit in our Hilltops region.”
