Rain won the day last Saturday with most matches abandoned in the senior and junior competitions.
The Bottles named a squad of twelve to take on Bribbaree including some future superstars but unfortunately it wasn’t to be as the heavens opened.
Boorowa will now turn their attention to the final round for the year when the take on the Temora Exie’s.
The Boorowa under 13’s managed to get a game in before the rain took hold. Boorowa had a convincing victory by nine wickets over the Blue Tigers. Boorowa cruised home reaching 1/77 in just ten overs passing the Tigers 8/74. Alfie Shean 2/9 and Octavian Miller 2/7 were the standout bowlers for Boorowa. They were well supported by Patrick Smith 1/3, Jacob Halls 1/5, and Archie Dowling 1/1.
The Boorowa batting was led by Archie Dowling who smashed a quick 38 off 20 balls to put the result beyond doubt. Jacob Halls chipped in with 13. It was a great win for the side who get better every week.
The under 11’s saw no result between the Boorowa Golds and the Harden Hornets, but the Boorowa Greens did get to play against the Young Smashers. The Smashers lived up to there name in compiling 171 with Ned Halls 1/8 being the Greens best bowler. With the bat, George Manion impressed with 28, Lachlan Halls made 13 and Henry Burton-Taylor got 13.
There’s no junior cricket this week with the competition breaking for the school holidays. Play will resume on January 3.
The 20/20 circus rolls on when the Bottles travel to Nixon Park in Temora to play competition leaders, the Temora Exie’s. Temora have only lost once this season and will be a tough opponent, but the Bottles are keen to go into the break with a victory.
The senior competition will break for Xmas after this weekend and will resume on January 17.
In the meantime, we will kick back and relax as the Aussies look to send the Poms home with a 5-0 defeat. Enjoy the festive season and all the best from the cricket club.
