In 2022, beloved pub Ram and Stallion suffered a kitchen fire, which torched the area, making them unable to provide the comforting country meals they once could.
Now, after hard work and patience, the kitchen is back open and looking better than ever.
The Pub has been pouring cold beer since 1860 as a workers’ pub that welcomes all. If you are high and mighty, maybe try elsewhere. If you want cold beer, friendship, conversation, or maybe a bed for the night, this place is for you.
Wayne and Karen look forward to pouring your favourite drop and now serving meals yet again.
Karen Apps spoke to the Boorowa Times about the kitchen reopening and what they can provide for their customers.
“On the 23rd of December, 2022, we had a fire in the kitchen at 1:30 am, and it destroyed our kitchen, so we’ve basically had no kitchen for nearly three years. Then it took that long for the insurance to come through. Finally, we got the insurance through, and we have a new kitchen,” she said.
“The re-opened kitchen looks great, and the meals are really good. “The kitchen now offers functions, counter meals, and night meals. We open every night for dinner meals and open for lunches from 12:00 pm till 2:00 pm Thursday through to Sunday.
“The community has been really supportive throughout the process of getting the kitchen reopened. “We encourage people to come down and try it out. We’ve got cold beer and good home-style country meals. They are not city meals in a country place; they are just good country town meals.
“We are also taking bookings for Christmas functions.” They are open every day: Mon – Friday:3:00 pm – Midnight Saturday:11:00 am – midnight Sunday and Public Holidays: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm.
