Recently, the Late Mail Postie Bike charity ride made its way from Ilford to Mudgee via Cowra, Temora, Wagga, Echuca, Tocumwal, Mulwala, Finley, Bathurst and Boorowa, totalling just under 2500kms on gravel roads throughout the route.
From 12-18 October, more than 50 charity riders took on the week-long ride on postie bikes, to raise awareness and funds for Wings4Kidz, this year raising $286,646 for Wings4Kidz.
Wings4Kidz are a not-for-profit organisation that provides free air transport for ill children in regional Australia who need to reach life-saving treatment in major hospitals.
The charity ride began with a few mates who wanted to raise some money for a worthy charity, while seeing some more of the country. They started with an initial goal of raising $30,000; however, in the first year, they raised over $80,000, and it has continued to flourish since then.
A spokesperson from The Late Mail Postie Ride said they are proud to have once again raised much-needed funds for Wings4Kids.
“This year we once again chose to support Wings4Kidz, who provide free transport for kids from regional NSW to vital medical treatment, and this year we raised $286,646 for them.”
