On the final day of Term 2, Friday July 4th, the Boorowa Central School P&C hosted a special morning tea to thank the hardworking staff of the school for their ongoing dedication to students and the wider school community.
Held on campus, the event brought to gether teachers, support staff, and members of the P&C for a relaxed and heartfelt get-together to mark the halfway point of the school year. It was an opportunity to thank each and every one of the staff for all the opportunities provided to the kids every single day.
The morning tea was not only a warm send-off into the winter holidays but also a chance to recognise the strong relationship between the school and its families. The gesture, which has now become something of a tradition, was well-received by staff and reflects the ongoing support the P&C provides to the school in many different ways.
Principal Graham Jones welcomed the initiative, adding his appreciation for both staff and parent contributions to school life. “Our staff go above and beyond every day, and it’s great to see that effort recognised in such a thoughtful way by our school community,” Mr Jones said.
While the morning tea was a P&C-led event, other major fundraising activities that support the school are also underway in the wider Boorowa community. One significant initiative is the Boorowa Touch Football and Netball Carnival, a major event run by local football clubs, not directly by the P&C, but with proceeds ultimately benefiting the school and its students.
“The carnival is a massive community effort,” Mr Jones explained. “It’s not a P&C initiative, but it’s a great example of local clubs and organisations working together to give back to the school.” He added that the proceeds from the carnival help fund various school programs and improve resources for students.
A proposed golf event is also being considered as a fundraiser, with the Touch Football and Netball Carnival selected as the beneficiary. As Term 3 begins, Boorowa Central School heads into the second half of the year with continued support from its community, a dedicated staff, and the strong backing of a grateful P&C.
