Boorowa League Stars Shine in Rep Games

The Boorowa Showground played host to several representative matches recently with the George Tooke representative side proving two strong in their two matches on a magnificent day of representative football.

The Canberra Rugby League has given Boorowa a big thumbs up for hosting this important event on the local league calendar. With a revamped junior league field looking a picture and the Pavilion in operation, Boorowa has certainly put its hand up to host more events like this one.

In a slightly different format, the main games saw the George Tooke Shield team prove too strong in its two games against the Regan Cup Representatives from group 7 and then the Woodbridge Cup team.

In the first match against the Regan Cup side, the George Tooke team was too strong, running out winners by 20-6.

Boorowa fullback Austin Power starred, with two tries, creating havoc every time he ran the ball. In the second match, the George Tooke team ran out convincing winners over the Woodbridge Cup team by 20-4.

This time it was Boorowa’s Cooper Cross who mesmerised the opposition scoring two tries and kicking two goals whilst Harden Hawks representative Jayden Cutting also scored two tries. The Rovers other players Hamish Scott and Alex Stewart were both solid all day putting in significant games.
