Boorowa Christmas Concert Slated for December

Boorowa has a Christmas Concert on December 13 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Boorowa Park.

The date is brought to you by the Boorowa Business Chamber and will be completely free with music, Santa, sausage sizzles and face painting.

There will be shopping spree and Christmas light winners announced and a best dressed prize.

One of the organisers, Amanda Serfin, said, “it is being sponsored by the Boorowa Bendigo Bank and we thought it would be a nice time to hold a free community event for the community of Boorowa and the Hilltops.

“We have some local performers singing and the schools are doing a performance. Santa Claus will be making an appearance and we will have a free sausage sizzle. There will be an ice cream van in attendance for people to purchase ice creams.

“This event has been done in Boorowa before and stopped during the Covid period and we thought now might be the time to bring it back to life. The Christmas light competition will have a rural category and a residential category and the winners will be announced on the night.”

The Boorowa Spending Spree is a competition being run at the moment in town.

“The Spending Spree is to encourage people to shop locally. When people spend money, they go into the draw to win a voucher which will go back into local shops in the Boorowa community. “It’s great to get the support of the Bendigo Bank. That money allows us to put this event on and that money goes back into the Boorowa community as well. The Boorowa Bendigo Bank does so much for the local community.

“It’s a family-oriented event and we encourage families and friends to come along and bring a picnic rug, some cheese and biscuits if one wants, sit back and enjoy the evening.”
