The Boorowa Rovers moved one step closer to a home semi-final last weekend when they won a thrilling game by 28-24 over the defending champions the Bungendore Tigers. The victory takes the Rovers to within one win of fourth spot and a home elimination final. It was a much-improved performance by the Rovers who, regardless of what happens this weekend, will face Bungendore again in the elimination final in two weeks. If the Rovers beat the UC Stars in the final round and Bungendore lose to the undefeated Harden Hawks, the elimination final will be played in Boorowa. Home ground advantage is massive, and the Rovers won’t want to travel to Bungendore should they finish in fifth. This round was due to be played earlier in the season but was postponed due to bad weather.

In other George Tooke Shield (GTS) games last weekend, Harden 60 beat UC Stars 12, North Canberra 54 beat Googong 4 and Crookwell 48 defeated Snowy River Bears 0.
The league tag saw the Roverettes again overcome the odds to record a convincing 22-6 win over Bungendore and can cement a spot in the elimination final if they beat the UC Stars this weekend. They may even make it if they have a loss but that is not on their radar. It’s a tremendous effort considering they have struggled for numbers all season.

In other league tag games on the weekend North Canberra 40 beat Googong 0, Crookwell 32 beat Snowy River Bears 4 and Harden 56 beat UC Stars 0.

This Saturday sees the final round of the regular season and the stakes are high in the GTS and league tag. In other GTS and league tag games to be played this weekend, Crookwell will take on North Canberra in a semi-final preview as these sides will play one another twice in seven days.
Googong hosts Snowy River Bears in a game for pride only and Harden look to finish the regular season unbeaten against Bungendore who need to win to secure a home final.
