Boorowa High School student Billy Fogg is making waves in the world of junior rodeo, securing an incredible achievement that’s turning heads both locally and abroad.
Earlier this year, Billy took out first place at the Junior High School qualifier rodeo held in Bendemeer a fiercely competitive event that saw young riders from across the state test their skills in the ring.
This victory has earned Billy a coveted spot at the world’s largest Junior High School Rodeo, set to take place in Des Moines, Iowa, from June 22 to June 28.
It’s not Billy’s first time on the international stage he competed in the same event last year but returning again is a testament to his consistency, skill, and sheer determination. Billy will be one of over 1,200 competitors representing 43 U.S. states and countries including Canada, Mexico and Australia.
Only the top four riders from each region or country are invited, making his inclusion all the more prestigious. His success hasn’t come overnight. Billy has been competing nearly every weekend, putting in the hard work and grit that bull riding demands. It’s a tough sport that requires physical strength, mental resilience, and unwavering focus and Billy brings all of that to every ride. He’s also quick to acknowledge that none of this would be possible without the support of his community.
A massive thank you goes out to the many people who’ve backed him from generous sponsors to those who participated in fundraising events. Whether it was donating items for the raffle, buying a ticket for the 100 Club, or spreading the word, every bit has helped get him closer to his dream.
